Jaipur: Six people were burnt alive while 30 were severely injured after the bus they were travelling in caught fire. The bus came in contact with a high voltage live electricity line in Jalore district of Rajasthan.
The incident took place in Maheshpura village late on Saturday night when the bus driver entered into a rural area after losing his way where the vehicle touched a hanging wire and caught fire.
The private bus was Beawar-bound in Ajmer from Jalore. After visiting a Jain temple, the victims were returning to Beawar. The bodies were handed over to family members on Sunday.
“A total of six persons died in the incident. Six critically injured were admitted in Jodhpur while others are under treatment in Jalore,” Deputy SP Himmat Singh was quoted as saying by India Today
.Rs 2 lakh compensation was announced to the next of kin of each deceased by the district administration. The injured were given Rs 50,000 each.
