Bhubaneswar: Six people died while many others were injured in separate lightning strikes across Odisha on Wednesday.
Expressing grief over the unnatural deaths, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.
According to the information received so far, two persons each died in Balasore and Bhadrak districts, while one person each died in Dhenkanal and Kendrapada districts.
The CM condoled the deaths and wished the injured a speedy recovery. “The state government will bear their medical expenses,” he said.
