Bhubaneswar: Almost entire Odisha reeled under intense heat with as many as 6 places registering maximum day temperature of 43 degree Celsius or more on Wednesday.
According to the table of maximum temperature in the state released by regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Sonepur continued to be the hottest place with 44.5 degree Celsius, followed by Balangir with 44 degree.
Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Titlagarh and Boudh recorded 43 degree Celsius on the day while the mercury crossed 40 degree Celsius in as many as 19 places.
The temperature in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack remained below 40 on the day. While Bhubaneswar recorded 37.1 degree Celsius, Cuttack recorded 37 degree.
