Malkangiri: Orkel Police arrested two ganja peddlers and seized 66 kg ganja at Dalpatiguda in Korukunda area in Malkangiri on Wednesday. The accused persons have been identified as Hajari and Gopi. They belong to Machhiwada village of Ludhiana district, Punjab.
The police also seized an auto-rickshaw, which was used for the transportation of the contraband.
Based on inputs by some reliable persons, a police team led by sub-inspector Rajanikant Deep was deployed at Dalpatiguda on the Malkangiri-Balimela Road for motor-vehicle check. The police found three gunny bags containing the contraband in the auto-rickshaw.
The peddlers were transporting ganja to Punjab from Guntuguda in Chitrakonda, said the sources.
