Lucknow: The number of Indians who love pets and animals is growing by the day. Stories of human beings going out of their way to take care of animals are very common these days.

But what is not common is what happened recently at Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Seven government doctors have been engaged to take care of a cow belonging to a bureaucrat!

Dr SK Tiwari, Chief Veterinary Officer of Fatehpur, has directed seven veterinary doctors under his command to treat the ailing cow of District Magistrate Apoorva Dubey.

The order letter, issued on June 9, has now gone viral. It names the day-wise list of doctors who will be on duty and perform daily check-ups of the bovine, twice a day. They will also have to submit a report to the Chief Veterinary Officer after performing check-ups.

The incident highlighted high-handed behaviour of VIPs in India and brought back memories of 2017, when the Rampur police force was deployed to hunt for SP leader Azam Khan’s missing buffaloes. The stolen buffaloes were found with the help of sniffer dogs.
