Bhubaneswar: Seven persons were injured when a bus, carrying around 50 passengers, overturned on National Highway-16 near Pitapalli in Odisha’s Khurda district on Sunday afternoon.
The mishap occurred around 2 pm on Khurda-Berhampur stretch of the highway. The bus was en route to Aska from Bhubaneswar when the driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle, which then started drifting towards the left, hit a roadside parapet and overturned, according to eyewitnesses.
Preliminary reports suggest the bus may have suffered a steering failure.
