Bhubaneswar: As many as 8,300 villages in Odisha do not have pucca roads, the state Assembly was informed on Tuesday.
In a written answer in the House, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik said that there are no proper pucca roads in 8,300 villages in the state.
Out of the 59,971 villages in the state, as many as 51,671 villages have proper pucca roads, the Minister said while replying to a question by Rajnagar MLA Dhruba Charan Sahu.
The 8300 villages which lack pucca roads at present will be connected with proper pucca road connectivity in phases through different schemes.
