9 Places In Odisha Record Temp At 10°C & Below; G Udayagiri Coldest At 6.4°C

Bhubaneswar: The coldwave conditions persisted in Odisha’s Kandhamal district for the third consecutive day with the mercury dropping to 6.4°C at G Udayagiri, India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.

Similiguda in Koraput recorded 7°C whereas Phulbani (Koraput) and Kirei (Sundargarh) recorded 8°C each.

With a coldwave sweeping the state, nine places recorded a night temperature of 10°C and below:

  • G Udayagiri (Kandhamal): 6.4°C
  • Similiguda (Koraput): 7°C
  • Phulbani (Kandhamal) and Kirei (Sundargarh): 8°C
  • Keonjhar: 8.8°C
  • Sundargarh: 9°C
  • Jharsuguda: 9.6°C
  • Daringbadi (Kandhamal) and Koraput: 10°C

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 15.9 degree Celsius and 15.2 degree Celsius respectively.

According to IMD, Odisha is likely to witness a gradual rise in the minimum temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius in next two days.
