Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,381 on Tuesday with two more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to Health & Family Welfare Department, one death each has been reported from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Two more persons suffering from Covid-19 in Odisha have succumbed to the disease, confirmed the Health & Family Welfare Department on Tuesday.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1. A 93 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease & Hypertension.
2. A 50 years old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Bronchial Asthma.
Odisha has reported 6,496 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 134 casualties in the state in October and 346 in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 46 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
