Bhubaneswar: The 3rd edition of art residency programme ‘VISTAS-2019’ organised by the Ila Panda Centre for Arts (IPCA) concluded recently.
Six students of Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) participated in the programme and showcased their paintings on the theme ‘landscapes’. They were mentored by renowned artist Baladev Maharatha.
Speaking on the occasion, Founder and Trustee Paramita Mohapatra said, “VISTAS-2019 was an enriching experience for both the BFA students and visitors. It was a unique experience for the BFA students as they got an opportunity to spend six weeks under one roof and shared experiences under the guidance of Baladev Maharatha, who is known for his art in Odisha and outside.”
The show, which was a blend of past and present approaches to art, was made special by the artists’ brilliant visualisation, she added.
The six-week art programme was inaugurated by members of IPCA advisory board Sitakant Mahapatra, Dr. J. P. Das, Devdas Chhotray, Dr. Aurobindo Behera, in presence of the Founder and Trustee.
IPCA Chairperson Panchami Manoo Ukil and Executive Director of IPCA Managing Committee Sunita Mohapatra were also present.
The IPCA Art Residency is designed to facilitate emerging artists and students from the field of art to fine tune their soft skills like communication, presentation, as well as inculcate a world view of contemporary art.
