New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday hit back at BJP’s charge against Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia and challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a lie-detector test.

Sisodia on Monday was grilled by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for nine hours in connection with the liquor sale policy.

“The CBI interrogated Manish Sisodia on false charges.. The BJP says he should be subjected to a lie detector test, and much more. I believe the biggest liar is PM Modi himself,” AAP chief spokesperson and MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said.

“I challenge PM Modi to admit the biggest lie that ‘ED and CBI are neutral agencies’ and that they have ‘nothing to do with the central government’,” Bharadwaj said, adding that the PM should say this at the ongoing Interpol meet in Delhi.

After his marathon session with CBI officials, Sisodia claimed on Monday night that he was asked to leave AAP, and become CM for BJP.

BJP’s Kapil Mishra, a former minister in the AAP government, earlier today asked Sisodia to appear for a lie-detector test over his claim that the CBI tried to pressure him into quitting AAP and join BJP.

While BJP has been saying that AAP is making such allegations to divert the public from the liquor policy scam, AAP listed Modi’s “seven lies,” including assertions about end of COVID pandemic, claims about recovering black money Ganga rejuvenation plan, target of a 5-trillion-dollar economy.

Meanwhile, CBI refuted Sisodia’s claims.

“CBI strongly refutes these allegations and reiterates that examination was carried out in a professional and legal manner strictly as per the allegations against him in the FIR. The investigation of the case will continue as per law,” the agency said in a statement.
