Puri: Police will formulate a comprehensive action plan to bring the crime rate under control in Puri very soon, said district SP Akhileshwar Singh on Tuesday.
Speaking to the mediapersons, here, he said he will interact with the think-tanks, journalists and several organizations in the Pilgrim Town in this connection. “I will welcome those who provide information about the criminal activities in their locality. I request the people to lodge FIR in the police station without any fear,” he added.
Praising the efforts of the Puri police during Rath Yatra amid COVID-19 pandemic, Singh appreciated its achievement in maintaining law and order in the town as well as other areas of the district.
Replying to a question that on most of the CCTV cameras installed in different places in Puri town not functioning, he said he will review the matter and take necessary steps to make those functional.
Singh took charge as Puri SP from Umashankar Das who is transferred as the DCP of Bhubaneswar this month.
