Active COVID Tally In Odisha Inches Closer To 100, 40% New Cases From Khurda

Bhubaneswar: The active cases tally inched closer to 100 on Thursday as 18 more people in Odisha were found infected with COVID in the last 24 hours.

Notably, the daily count of cases had been hovering between 9 and 11 for the past few days.

According to the I & PR department, 11 of the new cases are from quarantine and 7 local contacts. Four among them are in the age group of 0-18 years.

Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:

1. Balasore: 2
2. Balangir: 1
3. Keonjhar: 1
4. Khurda: 7
5. Nuapada: 3
6. Sambalpur: 2
7. Sonepur: 1

Besides, one from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 15,933 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.11 per cent.

Odisha now has 99 active cases.
