New Delhi: Following in the footsteps of several celebrities, Swara Bhasker joined the farmers’ protest at Delhi’s Singhu border on Friday.
The actress posted a series of tweets with photographs where she is seen sitting with female protestors. “A humbling day to see the grit, resolve and determination of protesting farmers and the elderly at #SinghuBorder #FarmersProtests,” she tweeted.
She also posted pictures which show farmers at their makeshift bases in their trucks, while some are seen holding up signs. Swara captioned them: “Snapshots of resilience.”
Thousands of farmers – mostly from Punjab and some from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh — have been protesting at various border points of Delhi for three weeks, demanding that the withdrawal of three farm laws enacted in September.
