Bhubaneswar: The last date for admission to Engineering Colleges in Odisha has been extended from December 15 to December 31, informed Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) Secretary Binod Das on Thursday.
“The last date of admission to engineering colleges has been extended till December 31 for the current academic year. Students seeking admission in lateral entry or 1st year to the engineering courses can now approach colleges till the extended date,” said Das.
The OPECA had filed a plea in the Orissa High Court seeking an extension of the admission deadline and then it moved the Supreme Court with the same plea. The apex court on Thursday agreed to grant an extension till December 31.
Last year, the admission deadline was December 31, but this year it advanced by 15 days, the OPECA had mentioned this in the petition.
