Cuttack: BJD’s Kendrapara MP and Ollywood actor Anubhav Mohanty on Friday deposited Rs 30,000 in the bank account of his wife and actress Varsha Priyadarshini, from whom he has sought divorce.
The actor deposited the money following a court order last week directing Varsha to vacate Anubhav’s parental house at Nandi Sahi in Odisha’s Cuttack.
Varsha has been ordered to leave the house within two months of receiving the first two financial assistance.
The court directed Anubhav to pay Rs 30,000 to Varsha on/before the 10th of every month for her accommodation.
In a separate development, Cuttack Cyber Police has written to Facebook to furnish details of an account called ‘Anubhav Mohanty The Real Hero Of Kendrapara’ after Varsha’s complaint that some persons were defaming her on the platform.
Varsha filed a domestic violence case at the SDJM court on August 7, 2020, accusing the actor-turned-politician of torturing her physically and mentally. She also prayed to the court to direct Anubhav to pay compensation and damages to her, right to residence in a shared household or pay rent of Rs 20,000 per month for a house or residence at her rank or level. She has sought one-time compensation of around Rs 15 crore and monthly maintenance of around Rs 50,000.
