Bhubaneswar: A day after Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and state BJP president Manmohan Samal led the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ yatra at Konark in Odisha’s Puri district, senior leaders of the saffron party on Monday joined the campaign in Bhubaneswar, on the eve of 77th Independence Day.
The BJP workers with over 1 km-long Tricolour began the rally from Lingaraj Temple. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, former state president Samir Mohanty, district unit president Babu Singh took part in the yatra organised by the Bhubaneswar Organisational district of the party. The rally will culminate at Master Canteen Square.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on Sunday, had urged the citizens to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement, saying that it symbolises the spirit of freedom and national unity. “Every Indian has an emotional connect with the Tricolour and it inspires us to work harder to further national progress. I urge you all to take part in the #HarGharTiranga movement between 13th to 15th August. Upload your photos with the Tiranga here… https://harghartiranga.com,” he had earlier noted.
The campaign was introduced as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration on July 22, 2022, when the national flag was adopted. A dedicated website was also launched, enabling citizens of India to virtually display the national flag at their homes and share their patriotic selfies alongside the Tiranga.
