Bhubaneswar: Teenager Jyoshna Sabar has done Odisha proud again.
The Odisha Weightlifting HPC trainee has been crowned Best Lifter in the Youth category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2023 which concluded today at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida.
Jyoshna, who will turn 18 on July 20, was adjudged Best Lifter in the National championship, too, at Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu earlier this year.
Indians finished with a rich haul of 18 medals – 8 gold, 8 silver and 2 bronze – at the championships.
Jyoshna had set the ball rolling by topping the 40 kg Youth category on July 12, with 53 kg in snatch and 64 kg in clean & jerk for a total of 116 kg.
