Bhubaneswar: After online sale of ‘Nirmalya’, home delivery of ‘Abhada’ of Lingaraj and Anant Vasudev temples, here by an e-Commerce firm has been opposed by the servitors.
The Brahman Nijog Samiti of the Lingaraj temple lodged a complaint at the Lingaraj police station seeking action against the website Tashukeru for hurting sentiments of devotees.
Tashukeru had recently announced to make home delivery of ‘Abadha’ of Lingaraj and Anant Vasudev temples on order in the Twin Cities. The servitors raised their voice after it was found that some flyers of Tashukeru were carrying Abadha along with parcels of non-vegetarian food itmes.
Secretary of Brahmana Nijog Samiti Biranchi Narayan Pati wrote to the police to stop the sale of the Abhada. He demanded immediate arrest of those selling Abadha in an unauthorised manner.
On November 3, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri filed a police complaint against e-commerce giant Amazon over the online sale of ‘Nirmalya’.
In his complaint lodged at Singhadwara police station here, SJTA Administrator (Development) Ajay Kumar Jena alleged that Nirmalya is being sold online by Amazon without permission from the temple administration.
