Angul: Narendra Dehury of Angul district has made it as a scientist to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) by dint of sheer dedication and hard work.
He will join at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) or Sriharikota Range (SHAR) on September 25.
ISRO conducted the national level examination for the post of scientist/engineer on April 22 this year. Around one lakh candidates appeared for the written examination. For the viva, 270 candidates were selected and among them, 42 candidates got the opportunity at ISRO.
Narendra had secured the seventh position.
The son of Narayan Dehury, a fourth grade employee of the Work’s Department, Narendra has completed his schooling from Angul Saraswati Sishu Mandira as a meritorious student.
His school fee had been waived off due to his family’s financial condition. He later studied at the College of Basic Science and Humanities and Electronics and Communication Engineering in NIT, Rourkela. He took education loan for higher studies.
Narendra had also begun a start-up company with his NIT friends. He had made a new equipment to check pollution in industries and smart cities. His company, Phoenix Robotix Pvt Ltd had received many awards and honours.
Narendra was however, aiming even higher. He left his company to study full time for the ISRO examination.
Despite his own hard work, he credits his parents, teachers and friends.
