Bhubaneswar: An Air Asia flight made an emergency landing reportedly due to medical needs of a passenger at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
According to sources, one of the passengers flying in Chennai-bound flight of Air Asia from Ranchi took ill and needed urgent medical attention while in the air.
As a result, the flight crew diverted the plane from the usual route to make emergency landing at Bhubaneswar to provide medical treatment to the passenger.
The critically ill patient was rushed to a hospital in the city, a news agency quoted the director, BPIA as saying.
