Mumbai: Akshay Kumar’s latest film, ‘Bell Bottom’, the first theatrical release since the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic led to the closure of cinemas again has been screened at the world’s highest mobile theatre in Ladakh. Akshay shared a special message about it.
Akshay shared the theatre’s photo and wrote on Twitter, “Makes my heart swell with pride that BellBottom was screened at World’s highest mobile theatre at Leh in Ladakh. At an altitude of 11562 ft, the theatre can operate at -28 degrees C. What an amazing feat (sic)!”
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film is set in the 80s and is based on the plane hijackings that took India by storm back then. Akshay plays a RAW agent in the film, while Vaani Kapoor plays his wife. The film also grabbed headlines because of Lara Dutta, who essays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Besides, Akshay, Vaani and Lara, the film has Huma Qureshi in an important role too.
Notably, ‘Bell Bottom’ is the first film, that was shot and finished during the pandemic.
