New Delhi: The Amarnath Yatra will commence on June 30, after two years.
Jammu and Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha announced this after a meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board on Sunday.
The 43-day holy pilgrimage will culminate on Raksha Bandhan day (Rakhi festival) as per tradition. The yatra has been allowed with all COVID protocols in place.
The Amarnath yatra was cancelled midway in 2019 ahead of abrogation of Article 370 in August that year, while only a symbolic yatra was observed the past two years due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
