Mumbai: Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol will soon be back on the big screen with the sequel of their successful 2001 film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’.
‘Gadar 2’, featuring both the actors, is ready and will hit the theatres on August 11.
However, Ameesha has stirred a controversy by levelling some serious allegations against director Anil Sharma and his production team.
The actress recently shared a message from ‘Gadar 2’ on social media, assuring her fans that her character Sakina is not dead in a picture showing Sunny in front a dead body.
Ameesha then went on to post a series of tweets accusing the director.
Stating how Sharma and his production house created mismanagement while shooting ‘Gadar 2’ in Chandigarh, Ameesha wrote: “Another concern of fans has been about certain incidents regarding ANIL SHARMA PRODUCTIONS to have taken place in regards to the final schedule of GADAR 2 that took place end May in CHANDIGARH.”
She highlighted some of the problems faced by the entire unit.
“There were certain queries that many technicians like make-up artists, costume designers n others etc did not receive their rightful remuneration and dues from ANIL SHARMA PRODUCTIONS!!Yes they did not !! But @ZeeStudios_ stepped in and made sure all dues were settled as they are a v professional company!”
The next tweet read: “Yes, from accommodation, to transport to Chandigarh airport on the final day to food bills were left unpaid and cars were not provided to certain cast and crew members, leaving them stranded! But yet again @zeestudios stepped in and corrected these issues caused by ANIL SHARMA PRODUCTIONS!!!”
She ended with: “All involved in the film are aware that the production of GADAR 2 was being handled by ANIL SHARMA PRODUCTIONS which unfortunately misfired numerous times but @ZeeStudios_ always rectified issues!! A special thanks to them especially Shariq Patel, Neeraj Joshi, Kabeer Ghosh and Nischit !! This Zee team is top notch.”
‘Gadar 2’ revolves around the principal character Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) returning to Pakistan to bring back his son, Charanjeet ‘Jeete’ Singh (Utkarsh Sharma). The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
