Mumbai: The use of ‘President of Bharat’ and ‘Prime Minister of Bharat’ in recent official invitations and communiques have sparked speculation whether the name ‘India’ will be changed and triggered a nationwide debate.
Amid the raging controversy, the title of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film has been changed to ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.’
Earlier titled ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue’, the makers announced the change via the first look poster of the movie.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai’s and produced by Vashu Bhangnani’s Pooja Entertainment, ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ is based on the 1989 Raniganj Coalfield collapse in November 1989.
Akshay plays Jaswant Singh Gill who led a heroic rescue mission against all odds to save the lives of 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine.
Akshay’s co-stars in the film include Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Rajesh Sharma.
The teaser will be out on September 7 and the film will be released in theatres on October 6.
