New Delhi: Even as rumours about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s marriage have been circulating online, there is news that a fresh chapter may be unfolding for the couple but on screen! Noted filmmaker Mani Ratnam is reportedly planning a new Hindi film, set to star the iconic “Guru” couple, Abhishek and Aishwarya. This potential collaboration is generating excitement, hinting at a reunion that could squash any speculations surrounding their relationship.
In 2007, Mani Ratnam’s Guru brought the couple together on screen just as they were about to tie the knot. Their chemistry impressed audiences, and Ratnam later cast them again in Raavan. According to a TimesNow.com report, the filmmaker has finally found a compelling story to reunite the Bachchan duo for a third film.
This would be Abhishek’s fourth collaboration with Ratnam, having first worked with him in Yuva. Reflecting on his deep bond with Ratnam, Abhishek once shared with Zoom, “When he had come to our home for the first time to sign me for Yuva, I thought he had come to sign Pa (father Amitabh Bachchan). When I got to know it was me he wanted I was beyond ecstatic. Any actor would give a limb to work with Mani. I take great pride in the fact that he found me worthy of his cinema thrice, so far, and that too without losing any limbs.”
Abhishek and Aishwarya have faced rumours of a troubled marriage before. Back in 2014, similar claims surfaced, but Abhishek dismissed them with humour, tweeting, “Ok. So I believe I’m getting divorced. Thanks for letting me know! Will you let me know when I’m getting remarried too?”
