New Delhi: Amid the resounding success of ‘Stree 2’ Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has more Instagram followers (91.4 million) than Prime Minister Narendra Modi (91.3 million), making her the third most-followed Indian on the platform after cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Priyanka Chopra.
Shraddha previously held the fourth spot with 91.24 million followers as of August 18, but now has 91.4 million, overtaking PM Modi’s 91.39 million followers. The top Indian celebrities on Instagram are Virat Kohli with 271 million followers, followed by Priyanka Chopra with 91.8 million followers. Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone also have a large following with 85.1 million and 79.8 million followers respectively, making them among the most popular Indian celebrities on the platform. Shraddha’s popularity on social media and her successful movies have made her one of the most loved and respected actresses in Bollywood.
On X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the most followers among world leaders, surpassing Joe Biden, Sheikh Mohammed, and Pope Francis. The PMO’s X account has over 56 million followers.
Among Indian politicians, Arvind Kejriwal has 27.6 million followers, slightly more than Rahul Gandhi’s 26.7 million followers. However, PM Modi has the most followers among global leaders on X with 101.2 million followers.
Amark Kaushik’s Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank also stars Rajkummar Rao. The movie is close to earning Rs 300 crore worldwide. It’s a sequel to the 2018 hit film Stree.
