Sambalpur: An amin of Rairakhol Tehsil office in Odisha’s Sambalpur district was suspended in connection with alleged misbehaviour with Zilla Parishad member Sarat Pradhan.
Official sources said that besides placing amin-cum-record keeper Kulamani Nayak, Sambalpur district Collector has issued show cause notice to Tehsildar Debasish Patra over his alleged involvement in the incident.
The suspended amin has been directed to report at the office of the deputy collector of Rairakhol. He has been asked not to leave the headquarters without prior permission during his suspension.
Following allegation that the Tehsildar and the amin had misbehaved with Zilla Parishad member Sarat Pradhan, the district Collector had ordered a probe into the matter. Rairakhol deputy collector Rashmi Ranjan Mahanta conducted the probe and submitted the report.
Sources said the probe report was prepared on the basis of CCTF footage and statements of employees and others. Based on the findings, the Collector placed the amin under suspension.
It may be noted that the incident had allegedly taken place on November 13 when Zilla Parishad member Pradhan had gone to meet the Tehsildar in his chamber. It was alleged that the Tehsildar as well as the amin illtreated him.
