Amritpal Kept Wife In Captivity, Used To Beat Her: Intel Report

New Delhi: Even as Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh continues to be on the run for the seventh day, an intelligence report has claimed that he used to assault his wife Kirandeep Kaur.

Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal, who married Kirandeep in February, allegedly used to keep her in captivity and beat her up, reported ANI.

The intel report says that the radical leader has been leading a lavish lifestyle in Dubai with frequent trips to Thailand, and has raised doubts about his relationship with other women.

Kirandeep, a UK citizen, has been questioned by police in connection with foreign funds that Waris Punjab De received.

The intel report also found that Amritpal was a truck driver in Dubai until 2022, and was closely involved with drug dealers there. He allegedly came in close contact with a dealer called Jaswant Singh, whose brother operates from Pakistan.

Amritpal then came to India and became a self-styled radical preacher. He thereafter became chief of Waris Punjab De, Deep Sidhu’s organisation, and followers have since been calling him ‘Bhindranwale 2.0’.

Punjab Police launched a massive manhunt on Waris Punjab De and its chief on March 18.

Though a number of arrests have been made, Amritpal is still absconding.
