Sambalpur: Ashok Kumar Mohanty joined as the manager, Andhra Bank’s Sambalpur zone on Saturday.
Prior to his present assignment, Mohanty was serving as assistant general manager of Bhubaneswar main branch. He was also serving as the assistant general manager at Bhubaneswar circle office that covers 5 zones, including three zones of Odisha, Patna and Kolkata.
Mohanty started his career with Andhra Bank in 1980 and served the bank in various capacities at different places in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Indore and Visakhapatnam. He was promoted to the rank of deputy general manager and placed as zonal manager of Sambalpur.
Retail credit & MSME advances are his area of interest and he is likely to give more emphasis on them during his tenure as the zonal head.
Of the total 181 branches of the bank across the state, Sambalpur zone has 49 branches.
