Bhubaneswar: Keeping the controversy over Kotia in Odisha’s Koraput district alive, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Peedika Rajanna Dora again visited the panchayat to promote his government’s welfare schemes on Thursday.
According to sources, Dora was accorded a warm welcome during his visit to Dhoolipadar village under the panchayat. Addressing the villagers at a public meeting in the village, he spoke on the welfare schemes of Andhra government and assured that those will be available for them.
Stating that the Andhra government intends development of the villages on border areas, he said, “We will come up with new schemes targeting these areas very soon. Our government has been trying to ensure basic facilities and availability of essential items for the people of Kotia. We will continue our efforts in this regard.”
This is the second visit by Andhra deputy CM to the panchayat in 4 months. He had visited another village on October 21 last year and made similar announcements to woo the villagers.
It may be noted that Andhra has been peddling welfare schemes in the panchayat and even attempted to claim it as its territory.
In April, Andhra released the state’s map which included 28 villages under Kotia panchayat. These 12 villages along with 28 others were shown in Parvatipuram Manyam district.
