Berhampur: Centuries-old building housing the Andhra Mahila Samajam Pathagaram at Kampa Sahi in Berhampur, collapsed due to incessant rains late on Sunday.
The building was reportedly built during the Madras Presidency era.
According to sources, thousands of books and the properties of the library have been completely damaged.
There was no casualty since the building was uninhabited when it collapsed.
Sources in the locality said that the library building had been lying in neglect for years due to lack of maintenance.
