Bhubaneswar: With almost entire Odisha receiving rainfall on Sunday, Angul recorded the highest amount of rain in the state.
According to regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Angul received 152 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm on Sunday.
Angul was followed by Boudh with 62 mm, Dhenkanal 57 mm, Hirakud 43.2 mm and Puri 40.2 mm rainfall during the period.
In the 24 hours from 8.30 am on Saturday, Sambalpur recorded the rainfall of 171.4 mm which is highest in the state. Similarly, Deogarh received 118 mm, Jharsuguda 103.4 mm and Dhenkanal 101 mm during the period.
The IMD has issued an orange warning and forecast that scattered heavy to very heavy with isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Sambalpur and Bargarh by 8.30 am on MOnday.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
Issuing a yellow warning, the Met centre said heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Nabarangapur and Dhenkanal during the period.
