Another Apartment In Bhubaneswar’s Bharatpur Looted

Bhubaneswar: In another loot of locked apartment in Bhubaneswar, the miscreants took away valuables worth more than Rs 5 lakh.

The CCTV footage of the loot that has gone viral in social media shows four miscreants with their faces covered entering the apartment at Bharatpur in the city late night. The footage also shows them coming out with the loot wrapped in a cloth. The date of the footage shows November 6.

According to sources, they broke the lock of the main door open of a flat and took away jewellery and other valuable things kept in the locker of a steel almirah inside the house. The looters apparently targeted the flat after finding it locked for some days.

The family of an old couple staying in the flat had gone on a trip to Badrinath when the incident took place. On their return from the trip, the house owner, Trilochan Das filed a complaint at Bharatpur police station.The police have registered a case and started investigation.

It may be noted that three flats in Srikshetra Residency at Patrapada located close to Bharatpur police station were looted by the miscreants on the night of November 6. One of the flat owners, Rajesh Pahadi, had lodged a police complaint stating that the miscreants had broken open the locker of his steel almirah and taken away jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh besides Rs 1 lakh in cash.

Earlier, four flats at Rajvatika Apartment under Infocity police station in the city were looted on October 16. Despite the presence of a security guard and CCTV cameras, the robbers decamped with gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables worth Rs 1 crore.
