Bhadrak: Farmer suicides continue unabated in the state with another incident being reported from Bhadrak on Monday.
The victim was identified as Soumendra Mohanty of Rarahimpur village under Basudevpur block in the district. He allegedly consumed poison in a paddy field near the village and was rushed to Basudevpur community health centre, where the doctors declared him dead.
According to reports, the farmer took the extreme step after failing to repay a loan amount of Rs 1.10 lakh that he had taken from some money lenders to raise crops on his farmland.
