Titilagarh: An employee of Common Service Centre (CSC) was arrested in Titilagarh in Odisha’s Balangir district on Saturday for allegedly demanding money for faclitating the registration and application process of Subhadra Yojana applicants.
The accused has been identified as Akash Sahu of Manigaon village under the jurisdiction of Titilagarh police station in the district.
Police said he was arrested for allegedly demanding Rs 100 to Rs 130 from women applicants for the registration process and providing application forms.
A complaint was lodged with the police after the the matter came to the notice of the Titilagarh BDO. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested Akash after conducting preliminary investigation.
According to the complaint, the accused was charging Rs 100 each from the applicants for the registration of Subhadra Yojana which is free of cost.
Further investigation is underway and others involved in such fraud will be taken to task, said a senior police official.
Earlier, Police had on Friday arrested three persons for allegedly charging money for application forms and registration under Subhadra Yojana in Bhubaneswar.
