New Delhi: After Twitter, which last month appointed Indian-origin Parag Agrawal as its CEO, Veeam Software, a global IT company specialising in data management solutions, on Friday announced the appointment of Anand Eswaran as its CEO. The company also appointed him on its board of directors.
The Baar, Switzerland-headquartered company said Eswaran will take over from William H Largent, who will step down as CEO to focus on his role as chairman of the board of directors.
“I’m excited to welcome Eswaran as Veeam’s new CEO. Eswaran brings extensive experience in developing new business models, executing on market expansion and driving growth with an inclusive purpose-led and people-first culture,” said Largent.
Eswaran joins Veeam from RingCentral, where he was president and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Before that, he worked for Microsoft. He was the executive vice-president of SAP before joining Microsoft.
He graduated from the University of Mumbai with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. He earned his master’s degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Eswaran joins the league of others of Indian origin who have made a mark in the IT industry globally, among them Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, Satya Nadela, who has been the Microsoft CEO since 2014, and Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google since 2015.
