Bhubaneswar: Another residential building in Odisha capital was targeted by the miscreants who looted valuables from the locked the house on Thursday.
As per reports, a retired judge, the owner of the two-storey building, has given the ground floor of his building at Lingaraj Vihar under Airfield police station in the city on rent, while he stays in the first floor.
The miscreants came to the building when both the floors were locked. While the judge had gone out of the country, his tenant, who works in Bhubaneswar airport, was away in his job.
On returning from work at 10 pm, the tenant found the lock of his house broken. On going inside, he found the things scattered and the vaulables stolen. The miscreants had allegedly taken away Rs 12,000 in cash, a gold and a silver idol from the house.
After the tenant filed a complaint in this regard at Airfield police station, a police team went to the building and started investigation.
It may be noted that unidentified miscreants had looted valuables worth more than Rs 5 lakh from a flat in an apartment in Bharatpur on November 6.
Similarly, three flats in Srikshetra Residency at Patrapada located close to Bharatpur police station were looted by the miscreants on the night of November 6. One of the flat owners, Rajesh Pahadi, had lodged a police complaint stating that the miscreants had broken open the locker of his steel almirah and taken away jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh besides Rs 1 lakh in cash.
