Koraput: An undertrial prisoner lodged in the Jeypore sub-jail in Odisha’s Koraput district died under mysterious circumstances on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Kamalu Lochan Dandsena of Siadimal village under Jeypore block in the district, was lodged in the jail since 2018.
Sources said Dandsena was taken to hospital following complaints of chest pain, but the doctors pronounced him dead. The exact reason of his death is yet to be ascertained.
The UTP was lodged at the jail in connection with a rape and murder case.
It may be noted that a 72-year-old undertrial prisoner lodged in the Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack district died on Thursday.
