New Delhi: During the discussion on the budget in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Samajwadi Party president and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav reacted strongly to questions about Rahul Gandhi’s caste, stating, “How can you ask someone’s caste?”
In response to his statement, BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary accused the SP chief of having a double standard on caste issues.
Anurag Thakur’s Rebuff
To counter Akhilesh’s remarks in the Lok Sabha, BJP leader Anurag shared a video in which the former is seen questioning journalists about their caste.
Sharing the same video on X, Chaudhary wrote, “Akhilesh Yadav’s double standards have once again been exposed. There is a clear difference between his words and actions.”
PM Modi All Praises For Thakur
This speech by my young and energetic colleague, Shri @ianuragthakur is a must hear. A perfect mix of facts and humour, exposing the dirty politics of the INDI Alliance.
Kharge Lashes Out At PM
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for tweeting BJP MP Anurag Thakur’s expunged remark on caste in the Lok Sabha. He condemned PM Modi’s tweet and said, “PM Modi should know where to speak and who to defend…Leaving that aside, he is inflaming sentiments [aag lagane ki baatein kar rahe hai].”
Caste Remarks Expunged
Anurag had made certain remarks on Tuesday that were expunged from the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. His apparent reference about Rahul Gandhi’s caste during the discussion had caused a massive uproar in the Lower House.
The Lok Sabha witnessed noisy scenes following Thakur’s remark, with the Opposition members seeking an apology from him over his remarks on Gandhi and persisted with their demand for a caste census.
