Bhubaneswar/Kolkata: Arrested West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee reached Kolkata on Tuesday morning following his discharge from AIIMS in Odisha’s capital, where he was rushed in an air ambulance on Monday.
Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials brought Chatterjee to Bhubaneswar airport on Tuesday morning, from where he was flown to Kolkata.
He was taken to the CGO complex in Kolkata as he has been sent to ED custody till August 3, according to media reports.
The minister’s health condition was stated as stable and Chatterjee was advised discharge by AIIMS on Monday.
Chatterjee was expected to leave AIIMS after 9 pm on Monday and board a late-night flight at around 11 pm to Kolkata. But, according to ED sources, due to unavoidable reasons, he spent the night at AIIMS.
Chatterjee was on Monday admitted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar after he was brought to Odisha’s capital in an air ambulance by ED following a Calcutta High Court order.
He was arrested in connection with a teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal on Saturday.
