Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Raghubar Das has assured justice to the wife of ASO who has accused the Governor’s son of assaulting him in Puri.

Speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, Sayoji Pradhan, the wife of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Baikuntha Pradhan, said she met the Governor on the latter’s call to listen to her complaint.

“The Governor patiently heard the entire incident of assault on my husband by his son Lalit Kumar in Raj Bhavan at Puri during Rath Yatra. I told him the details of the incident. Then he assured me of ensuring justice,” she said.

On being asked what action she was expecting against Lalit, she said, “We will patiently wait and see what steps are being taken by the Governor to ensure justice to us. Then we will decide our next course of action.”

Earlier, Sayoji had also met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and apprised him of the incident. The chief minister had expressed his concern and assured her of taking necessary actions in a day or two.

ASO Pradhan had filed a complaint against Lalit and five others at Sea Beach police station in Puri on Friday. He alleged in his complaint that Lalit and five others had assaulted him in the Raj Bhavan on the night of Rath Yatra in Puri on July 7.
