Jabalpur: At least 15 persons were injured in a blast at the Ordnance Factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district on Tuesday, according to reports.
The explosion occurred at a refilling section of the factory, an official said, reported The Indian Express.
Bombs and explosives are manufactured at the factory. Three of the injured persons, who are employees of the factory, were rushed to a private hospital for urgent treatment, reported the NDTV. Their condition is stated to be critical.
According to reports, a hydraulic system malfunctioned during the bomb-filling process in building 200 of the factory’s F-6 section.
This caused the explosion. Reports claimed that the explosion was so powerful that its sound could be heard as far as five kilometres away.
According to locals, they thought the sound of the blast to be an earthquake.
