Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday arrested two youths for allegedly trying to loot money from an ATM counter of State Bank of India (SBI) near Badheibanka Chhak under Lingaraj police limits in the Odisha capital.
Sources said three youths arrived at the ATM counter this morning. Later, they went inside the ATM counter to withdraw the cash and stayed there for a long time, raising suspicion.
Some locals entered the kiosk and questioned them. When the three youths could not give them a satisfactory reply, the locals caught hold of the two of them and informed the police.
The third youth managed to flee in the car.
Lingaraj Police soon reached the spot and arrested the two youths.
The two youths during interrogation admitted that they were trying to hack the counter-intelligence code of the ATM to obtain cash,
Police said that the arrested will be interrogated further to ascertain the involvement of other members in the racket and their modus operandi.
Efforts are on to nab their absconding associate, they said.
