Balasore: As many as nine new COVID-19 cases were reported from Balasore on Thursday, taking the district’s tally to 505.
Of the nine new cases, four are local contacts and five are from quarantine centres.
Two of the cases among the five reported from quarantine centres are returnees from Hyderabad. The three others are in institutional quarantine in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, AIIMS and KIIMS in Bhubaneswar.
Out of the four local contacts, one is a close contact of previous positive cases. Contact tracing is on to ascertain more details.
At present, Balasore district has 145 active coronavirus cases and 358 have recovered.
