Baramunda Ambedkar Bus Terminal In Odisha Capital To Have Police Outpost With 89 Personnel

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced that Dr Babasaheb Bhimarao Ambedkar Inter-state Bus Terminal, which is now in its last leg of construction work at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar, will have a police outpost with 89 personnel.

Of the 89 police personnel to be deployed in the outpost, two will be of Sub Inspector rank, nine Assistant Sub Inspectors, four Havildars, 72 constables, and two will be drivers.

The bus terminal being constructed under 5T Initiative of the state government, will be ready soon following which the CM will dedicate it to people, sources said.

As per an estimate, initially, 700 to 800 buses will operate from the terminal every day which would later increase to 1,700-1,800 and cater to 35,000-45,000 passengers.

As the terminal will have a restaurant, multi-storied car parking space, cafeteria, pick up and drop off facilities for passengers, 144 bus bays, and a market, Odisha 5T Chairman V K Pandian had recommended a police outpost for better security of people.
