Mumbai: Spreading fake news has almost become a trend. But using the name of a celebrity to lure people to an event is not very common.
Bollywood actor Govinda recently came across a similar ‘scam’.
A poster advertised an event which offered fans the ‘golden opportunity’ to meet Govinda and share a meal with him.
The event, organized by a production label, is scheduled to be held in Lucknow on December 20, according to the advertisement. Details of booking tickets are also given in the poster.
But as it turns out, Govinda is not scheduled to take part in any such event.
He shared the poster of the fake event on his Instagram Stories and clarified that it is “false news”.
The hero of blockbuster hits like Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Jodi No. 1 and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan recently released a song titled ‘Tip Tip Paani Barsa’ on his YouTube channel.
The song takes his fans down memory lane with a dose of vintage and classic Govinda-style entertainment.
