Bhubaneswar: The Utkal University and Rama Devi Women’s University here on Sunday postponed examinations scheduled to be conducted by the authorities due to Bharat Bandh called by trade unions on March 28 and 29.
Controller of Examination of Utkal University Sarat Kumar Majhi, in a statement, said in view of the Bharat Bandh called by trade unions from 6 am to 4 pm on March 28 and 29, all examinations scheduled for the two days stand postponed. The next date of the examinations will be announced in future, he added.
Majhi said the decision on postponement of the examinations has been taken on the recommendation of the university’s vice-chancellor.
Similarly, the Rama Devi Women’s University has also postponed the examinations, which were scheduled on the two dates, its Controller of Examination informed.
It may be noted that Joint Forum of Central Trade Unions has called two-day nationwide strike in protest against “anti-worker policies of the Central government and rise in prices of essential commodities and petroleum products”.
