Bhubaneswar: The MP from Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi, has been nominated as India’s candidate for the upcoming position in the Executive Committee of Inter- Parliamentary Union of 178 Parliaments.
Sharing the news on social media, the MP has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for showing trust in her.
The vacancy is likely to be filled during the 145th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union scheduled in Kigali, Rwanda from October 11 to 15.
India’s Parliament has been a member of the IPU since 1949.
