Bhubaneswar: Two weeks after a massive blast at a petrol pump in the city, a DNA test of the dismembered body parts conducted at Capital Hospital has confirmed the death of an employee of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Simanchal Parida, of Ganjam district.
Expressing grief over Parida’s death, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said police have informed the family about the DNA test report. Besides, The IOCL authorities have also been informed about the death of their employee so that the family members can get compensation, he added.
“Following the death of Parida, two persons have died in the blast while the DNA report has not mentioned about the death of other persons,” Sarangi pointed out.
Stating that the investigation into the blast is underway, he said that police will provide more details about the incident in a couple of days.
Notably, Parida had been missing since the blast on October 15.
